SIP Xingpu School offers a course to encourage its students to “redesign” the patterns on the traditional dresses for women. This allows the students to better understand the ancient designs and carry them forward by adding modern fashion elements to them.
Other schools in Shengpu Sub-district have also taken the initiative to integrate traditional culture into their curriculums, which have offered the schools’ students more opportunities to understand and experience the “three treasures” and other folk culture.
The kindergartens in the sub-district often organize various events for children to try to make traditional clothes, learn folk songs and performances, and experience handicrafts such as tie-dye and weaving.
