A team of art enthusiasts embarked on a tour to sculptures from Suzhou Center, SIP on Dec 16 to explore the spirit and artistic trait of SIP. They were the participants of the second session of the “Following the Artist to Appreciate Sculptures” activity.
The participants viewed five sculptures, listened to an artist’s introduction to them and their relations to SIP’s development. English commentaries were given to the expatriates among them so that they could fully understand the meaning of the sculptures.
After that, the participants visited the Colour Intoxication exhibition, a solo exhibition of Israeli artist Raphael Perez at Qu Art Museum, where they were amazed by the works and the artist’s explorations of colors and emotions.
In the museum, the participants also tried to create models of Taihu Lake rocks (peculiar limestones which are important components of classical gardens of China) with high-density sponge.
