The dragon boat team of the Suzhou Youth Chamber of Commerce (SZYCC) is now gearing up for the 2024 Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race that will take place in SIP on June 10 to mark the Chinese Dragon Boat Festival which, reckoned on the fifth day of the fifth month on the Chinese lunar calendar, will fall on that day this year.

The team, formed in June 2023, is composed of a number of young entrepreneurs who had eye-catching performance in last year’s Jinji Lake Dragon Boat Race and other events.

“The sport of dragon boat rowing is about teamwork, which is in line with SZYCC’s concept,” said Gao Min, the team leader.

According to Gao, the team will be divided into two groups who will respectively compete in the 22-people 300-meter straightaway race and the 12-women 300-meter straightaway race.
