Wu Hong, deputy secretary of the CPC SIP Working Committee and director of SIP Administrative Committee, led a team to patrol the SIP section of Wusong River on July 30.
This river section extends 18.9 kilometers from the Huodi Lake in the west to the boundary between SIP and Kunshan in the east, with 22 branches. SIP has designated one “river chief” at district level and two at sub-district level to take the charge of the management of this section.
During the patrol, Wu and his contingent learned details about the responsibilities of the river chiefs, their working mechanisms and tasks, the construction of related projects and measures of coping with pollution and floods, and the use of the watercourse for shipping, etc.
Wu urged related departments and personnel to ensure the fastest response to any problem, and strengthen efforts to prevent and control pollution and floods.
