Shen Mi, member of the Standing Committee of CPC Suzhou Committee and secretary of CPC SIP Working Committee, led a survey tour to Weiting Sub-district on Nov 14 to learn about the progress of a project that was going on there to improve the landscape around Qingjian Lake.

The project covers an area of about 123.5 hectares, including a water area of about 71.3 hectares. It focuses on connecting the greenways, building a footpath around the lake, improving the water scenery and upgrading parks, parking lots and other facilities.

So far, several spaces have been opened to the public after renovation. A pedestrian overpass has been set up across Xinghu Street for sightseeing.

Shen and his contingent walked along the lake shore while listening to the report on the project. Shen gave high praise to the outcomes that had been made so far, and urged the project undertaker to continue improving the landscape around Qingjian Lake in a systematic way to help boost the vitality in the northern part of SIP.
