The Suzhou tryout of the 2024 China-U.S. Young Maker Competition concluded on the bank of Dushu Lake in SIP on July 6.
The China-U.S. Young Maker Competition, an annual event initiated by the Ministry of Education of China in 2014, is aimed at offering global young people a chance to showcase their ideas and inventions focusing on sustainability of human society, such as those for community development, education, environmental protection, healthcare, energy utilization and transportation.
This year’s Suzhou tryout attracted 66 projects from 40 schools including the University of Science and Technology of China, Soochow University, the University of Chicago and University of Macau, and 26 projects from 12 schools advanced to the last round.
After two days’ fierce competition, seven teams gained entry to the China-U.S. Young Maker Competition finals, where they will compete with rivals from 14 areas.
