A commemorative envelope was unveiled at China National Post and Postage Stamp Museum, Beijing on Dec 19 to mark the 30th anniversary of SIP’s establishment.
The unveiling ceremony was sponsored by China Post, a state-owned postal service supplier in China, and jointly organized by SIP Administrative Committee and China Post’s Suzhou branch.
The commemorative envelope boasts a simple design, bearing the special stamp that China Post issued on June 10 for the same purpose.
On the envelope is the number “30”, with the “3” formed by horizontal lines symbolizing SIP’s modernity and fast development and the “0” composed of a traditional Chinese window below the sketches of several landmark buildings in SIP, which symbolize the integration of tradition and modernity in SIP.
At the event, Zhu Jiang, member of the CPC SIP Working Committee, deputy director of SIP Administrative Committee and director of the Publicity Department of the CPC SIP Working Committee, presented a picture frame with the stamps, postcards and commemorative envelopes designed for SIP’s 10th, 20th and 30th anniversaries to the guest from the Embassy of Singapore in Beijing, China.
