The SIP Southern Citizen Center came into service on July 3. It is expected to greatly enrich the lives of the nearby residents.

The center, located at No. 39 Jinyuan Street, was invested by SIP Administrative Committee and built by Suzhou Industrial Park Urban Renovation & Development Co Ltd, and is operated by New Era Group.

With a land area of 10,600 square meters and a total floor area of 35,000 square meters, the center has a library, the exhibition hall of Xietang Sub-district, a general service station, and spaces for art, sports and recreational activities.

The center is free to the public during its soft opening, and offers a 30% discount for the use of its sports facilities and two-for-one coupons for plays and operas during the first month of its formal operation.

The center said it would offer a public-benefit pingtan (storytelling and ballad singing in Suzhou dialect) performance, several other opera performances and over 20 films each month, and host various reading activities, public lectures and other events on a regular basis.
