A lecture and a salon session on art were held at Suzhou Museum of Contemporary Art, SIP on Oct 22, when a host of artists, experts and scholars shared their views on development and spread of art.
Both of the events were parallel events of the “Artistic Splendour: Thirty Years of Contemporary Art from China and Singapore” exhibition that is underway at the museum to celebrate the 30th anniversary of SIP’s inception and the exchanges between China and Singapore in art and cultures.
At the event, Zhang Qing, deputy curator of the National Art Museum of China, gave a keynote speech to the participants, sharing his opinions on art exchanges between China and Singapore based on his own experiences.
At the salon session, the participants, including Ding Ning, a graduate student supervisor and deputy department director at School of Arts of Peking University, exchanged opinions on contemporary Chinese art and its development trends.
