The “Saudi Film Nights” exhibition, jointly sponsored by the Saudi Film Commission and Suzhou-based ORI Group, opened at Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre, SIP on Oct 23, marking a new milestone in cultural exchanges between China and Saudi Arabia.
The films “Il Signore” and “Saleeg” were screened, providing a unique perspective for the local audiences to know better about Saudi culture and art.
Aymen Khoja, director of “Il Signore”, showed up at the opening ceremony, sharing with audiences why and how he created the work.
The “Saudi Film Nights” exhibition has made great success in France, Morocco and Australia. It was held in Beijing before coming to Suzhou, and will tour to Shanghai soon.
“We hope to set a bridge between Chinese and Saudi cultures, and foster cooperation between film industries in both countries,” said Qian Feng, president of ORI Group.
“A Chinese film exhibition is expected to be held in Saudi Arabia next year to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Saudi Arabia,” Qian added.
