The NUSS (National University of Singapore Society) Choir and the Soochow University Alumni Choir jointly gave a concert at the Enling Art Centre of Soochow University on Oct 18, hoping to do their bit in enhancing the friendship and promoting communication between Chinese and Singaporean people.
The NUSS Choir, founded in 1998, currently consists of more than 80 members who have performed locally and abroad on many occasions and received lots of awards.
The Soochow University Alumni Choir was founded in 2020, and currently consists of about 50 members. The choir also has won a list of awards in various competitions.
The two choirs performed the Chinese songs such as “Jasmine Flower” and “The Moon Represents My Heart”, and songs highlighting Singaporean culture, like “SINGAPURA” and “Burang Kakatua”. They also performed the Swiss folk song “Holdiridia” and Congolese folk song “Muana Moke”.
After the performance, the NUSS Choir visited SIP Exhibition Center and the “Artistic Splendour: Thirty Years of Contemporary Art from China and Singapore” exhibition, and toured Jinji Lake in boat.
