The China (Suzhou) International Pastel Biennale was initiated in Suzhou in 2014. It is of special significance for the new edition to be held at Ming Gallery of Art which has been engaged in spreading the art of pastel and celebrates the 10th anniversary of its opening this year.
A symposium on pastels was held on the same day when the participating artists discussed a series of topics concerning creation of pastels and related exchanges.
In addition to the exhibition, a series of other events including art lectures and artists’ visits to schools are on the schedule, designed to increase the public’s knowledge of pastel art.
