Suzhou Symphony Orchestra (SZS) and its principal conductor Xu Zhong gave a concert at Suzhou Jinji Lake Concert Hall in SIP on Oct 18. The event was part of the 2024 (3rd) Suzhou Jinji Lake China-France Culture and Art Week scheduled in Suzhou, China and Paris, France from Oct 5 to 20.
The concert started with the performance of “Mazeppa”, a symphonic poem composed by Hungarian composer Franz Liszt, followed by “Symphonic Variations” M. 46, a work by César Franck, a Belgian-French Romantic composer and organist.
After that, “Daphnis et Chloé” Suite No.1, a work by Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) , a French composer of classical music, and “Scheherazade”, a work by Russian composer Nicolay Rimsky-Korsakov, were performed.
