The “Right Bank Parlor”, an about 14,200-square-meter square on the right bank of Jinji Lake, became a hot destination during the seven-day National Day holiday.
The square, themed “art”, is one of the major parts of the ongoing Jinji Lake right bank renovation project. Located in the middle zone of the right bank of the lake, it is designed to highlight the cultural characteristics of Suzhou and serve as a high-quality leisure space for local residents and tourists.
The square boasts a sunken public plaza dominated by verdant lawns, a landscape belt along the lakeshore, and a 20-meter-high sculpture called “Flying”, which symbolizes the bright future of win-win cooperation between China and Singapore.
Concerts were staged on the square every night during the National Day holiday, with varied genres of music that made the nightlife wonderful.
Apart from that, over 30 art and cultural events including diverse fairs and sailboat performances were held during the holiday. According to He Wen, deputy director of the Publicity Department and the United Front Work Department of CPC SIP Working Committee, more events such as outdoor concerts and art exhibitions will be held in the future.
