The Land Art Season of The Archaeological Site Park of Caoxieshan kicked off recently, and will last till March 2, 2025.
Land art, also known as environmental art, refers to an art form encompassing site-specific structures, sculptures and other works created directly in natural landscape.
Visitors to the park can see a number of artistic installations. For example, one of the installations is a huge, inclining, transparent bottle containing maple leaves on the opposite of an array of connected mirrors, portraying the charm of nature at the turn of autumn and winter.
Another installation, featuring retro crop straw stacks, is not just an art work, but also a food stock for livestock and a habitat for small mammals and birds. It is especially popular with kids.
